A friend of mine flew back to Little Rock Saturday after vacationing in Las Vegas. At 29,000 feet and just east of Ft. Smith, he took some video of thunderstorms developing. I wanted to show you this video to give you a different perspective on those pop up showers and storms that develop when the hot and humid air rises into the colder air aloft.
One of our fellow bloggers and Channel 7 storm chaser, Bobby Powers, shot some video in Benton Saturday afternoon. You can see the sheets of rain blowing in the winds which he estimated at about 40 mph. Bobby also says some pea size hail fell.
