Extreme Heat... Make It Go Away

Here are some stats that put this last half of summer into perspective...

So far 10 days of 100+ degree heat ( all in August)

No rain at the Little Rock airport since July 30th (Trace)

We have been above 90 degrees everyday since July 25th.

All of this has contributed to very dry conditions. The map above indicates a moderate to extreme drought across the northern half of the state. A burn ban is in effect for most of the state as well.

That's the bad news. Now onto the good news. The front for late week looks on track with some needed rainfall POSSIBLE. The American GFS is saying the high next Thursday will be 89 and Friday 88. I hope it's right!!!
