More Hot Days Ahead

The drought continues and the above is the drought monitor for the state. It's abnormally dry for much of central Arkansas to an extreme drought close to the Mississippi river over far northeastern Arkansas.

A ridge of high pressure will keep storms from forming and bring plenty of hot sunshine for the next few days. This round of hot weather should not be as bad as the first half of August, but it may still be dangerous for a few hours during the afternoon. I would not be surprised to see a few 100 degree temperatures pop up around the state today, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
