Spring Has Sprung Severe?
Before I take off...literally... I was drawn to this solution by the 12Z GFS for March 9th. This is the March 1st. run. A strong piece of energy is bundled tightly coming out of the southwest U.S. with the formation of a surface low on the east side of the rockies. The flow of moisture at the surface from the Gulf is very pronounced. This WOULD be a severe weather risk. HOWEVER, being more than a week away, things could obviously change. We are going into severe weather season and given the pattern, this is a very possible solution. We'll see...
