About

This is more than just a weather blog, it's the only place on the web completely dedicated to bring you the most in depth and interactive weather experience in Arkansas.   Since it started in 2006, it has grown by leaps and bounds thanks to all of you who visit and contribute to it.

There are several goals for this blog:
  1.  Make it as interactive as possible.  I encourage you to share your thoughts in the comment section and start a conversation with other weather enthusiasts across the state.  When big weather events are about to occur, we often have shows called "Arkansas Weather Live".  This show is dedicated to give you details of big weather events before they unfold and it features fellow bloggers.  During the winter of 2009-2010, we even had Accuweather.com meteorologist Joe Bastardi call in to the show to share his thoughts on Arkansas Weather.  We also open a chat room allowing a live discussion with weather enthusiasts across the state during the show.
  2. Weather details that go beyond the usual forecast.  In television, we are usually given 3 to 3 and a half minutes to talk about the weather.  This is always enough time to let you know if it will rain, snow, storm, or if the sun will shine.  The blog allows us to get even more specific with greater detail on what all the computer models are showing.
  3. Fun.  Let's face it...  those of us who regularly contribute to and read the blog are addicted to weather.  This is an outlet for us "weather nuts".  From contests to polls, we always try to make it interesting with new and fun things.  If you have any ideas, please let us know.  This blog is all about you and the weather.

The Arkansas Weather Blog Recognized as the Best Blog in Arkansas

A couple of years ago I asked my wife, Andria, why the weather blog wasn't succeeding.  She quickly responded, you must update it as often as possible and make the content fresh and interesting.  Using her advice, I dedicated as much time as I could and tried to have fun with it.

Because of her and all of you who read it, the "Arkansas Weather Blog" was recognized by the Society of Professional Journalists as the best blog in Arkansas.
