If you ask anyone when severe weather is most likely to occur in Arkansas, they will tell you spring. They are right and wrong. The fact is, we have two severe weather seasons here... spring and fall. Typically spring is more severe, but there have been plenty of fall severe weather events that are far worse.
The above is the Storm Prediction Centers extended severe weather outlook. It indicates the possibility of severe weather for days 7 and 8 over northwestern Arkansas. I have never seen them issue an outlook a week or more away. There will be a strong storm system pulling into the plains. It must be watched, but things can and will change.
