Leaves Are Falling And Soon So Will The Temperature

Ron Winkle sent this picture in from the Ouachita River in Mtn. Pine, AR. Thanks Ron. GREAT PICTURE! They're coming into the station so don't forget to send yours soon. Pick your best one or two.

Alright, if you saw the 10 o'clock news last night, you'll know about the temperature roller coaster we're going through today and Tuesday. I expect many areas will see 80 degrees today with breezy conditions. The front runs into some moisture over central and southern Arkansas late this afternoon and evening and kicks up a few showers and maybe even a thunderstorm. Skies clear quickly and temperatures Tuesday will struggle to get out of the 50s here in Little Rock.

The ingredients are coming together for a frost and/or freeze across western, central, and northern Arkansas Wednesday morning. The center of high pressure will be on top of us allowing winds to become calm. It's right on schedule here in Little Rock as our AVERAGE first frost is November 1st and our AVERAGE first freeze is November 12th. This morning three of our main computer models indicate a low in Little Rock of 36, 31, and 29 degrees Wed. morning.
