Meteor Storm Tonight?
Let's just hope clouds don't get in the way of this one! A meteor shower or maybe even a storm will be visible Friday night into Saturday morning. Shortly after midnight will be the best time to view this potential display above. The Earth will pass through debris from Comet 209P/Linear. Some experts say several hundred may be seen per hour and it could reach as many as 1000 per hour. That's a lot of wishes. This comet was discovered in 2004.
Our photojournalist and storm chaser, Brian Emfinger, will have multiple cameras set up to capture this event and I know he'll share them on twitter and facebook. I'll also some video and pics on TV, hopefully. Again, we need to keep those clouds away!
Here are some fantastic picture from previous meteor showers from Brian's website... www.brianemfinger.com
