You Might Be A Weather Geek If...

With a quiet weather pattern in place, let's have some fun!

I want you to channel your inner Jeff Foxworthy and finish this line, "You might be a weather geek if..."

I posed the question on Channel 7's facebook page and got several very funny responses.  Add yours to the comment section at the end of the post AND/OR send a short video of your line to weather@katv.com.  I"ll post them!

Christie Ashcraft...You might be a weather geek if you have more weather pictures than pictures if your grand kids.

Randy Stevens... if you have a tattoo of a wall cloud on one arm and a tornado on the other.

Steve Cull ...When you have as many hair products as Todd...

Michael Horvath... You turn on the TV hoping to see B.B. , T.Y. , or Ned before your morning meds.

Dana Davis... You might be a weather geek if you get depressed when it is not storm season.

Lisa Shubert... If you set up your own laptop at work and use your phone's wifi connection because the blog is blocked on your work computer!

Claire Schexnayder Hand... You watch live Mega Doppler radar for a state besides your residence. and FB your friends in those areas to keep them aware of the storm once they lose power and/or satellite!

Katina Criswell... you might be a wheather geek if you sit on the front porch during a tornado watch just to see if you can see it

Stephanie Johnson ...If its hailing outside and you have to go out and get a peice to send to katvs weather page.

Jack Gardner ‎...you go storm chasing and your wife is home pregnant with twins.

....if you rush out of the house to go see and get pictures of Dominator 1 and 2 and when you see them act like you might seeing your favorite rock band in person when you were a teenager. (really did this, and have pictures to prove it, lol)

....if when you finally see Dominator 1 and 2 wish you could have some of the cool weather equipment for your own vehicle or home.

....if you become a trained storm spotter. (did this too)

By the way, I have my own weather station. Not as elaborate as some but I have an anemometer, barometer, thermometer and still have to install my rain gage. Great blog post Todd, love everyone's responses.

You might be a weather geek if you...

Watch a storm system develop over 10 days, hoping it produces snow in your hometown.

Do not sleep as said storm system moves in to the state.

Look outside every five minutes to "make sure it's still snowing."

Measure the snow every 30 minutes to let everyone on your Facebook friend's list know how much snow you have so far.

Look forward to the next system as the current one dies down.

You almost get depressed when there is accumulating snow in the forecast and it turns out to be only flurries.

if you watch live storm coverage from the time it comes on, until they return to regular programming. Usually way before and way after your area has been affected.

You get upset when regular programming interrupts the severe weather coverage....

You forget to pay your bills because Earl Barker's WXCASTER website is sooooo fascinating....

Your husband yells at you to "quit turning the porch light on and off all night!" when all you want to do is catch sight of that first snowflake.....

For entertainment (when nothing is going on in your area)you go the the NWS website and click on other states with watches and warnings to see what's happening there....

You try to call friends and family in places like Colorado, Utah, Texas, Tennessee, Louisiana, Missouri, etc.. to discuss their weather and nobody will answer. What's up with that?.....

If you sit staring into the live feed on your laptop watching rainfall on a parking lot in Texarkana just to get a glimpse of the first snowflake of an Arkansas winter storm!!!

... if all your friends call you to find out whether they are in the path of a storm.

That one's actually kinda scary. I'm not really qualified to answer. If they're in the red box I usually tell them to take cover unless the storm has already passed :-)
