A Weather Geek's "Twas The Night Before Christmas"

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the state
snow lovers were stirring, they would take a single flake;
The sleds were placed by the front porch with care,
In hopes that snow would fall anywhere
The children were nestled all snug in their beds;
While visions of winter storms danced in their heads;
And mamma with her droid, and I with my iphone,
Had just settled down to watch snow video from Emfinger's drone,
then twitter notifications started ringing with such a clatter
I opened up tweetdeck to see what was the matter.
The newest data says the Polar Vortex would crash,
I quickly asked Todd if this was trash?
We need that arctic chill to make those much wanted flakes of snow,
It made the Natural State even more beautiful you know,
When what to my delight he responded with cheer,
The cold is coming, by next week it will be here,
If it came with no moisture it would make us all sick,
what a waste of cold air and a horrible trick
Let's keep an eye on the models, but as of late they have been lame,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:
"Now, Euro! now, GFS! now UKMET and JMA!
On, NAM on, CMC! on, CFSv2 and HRRR!
Take that arctic front to the south and stall!
And moisture would overrun and bring snow for all!"

    Merry Christmas to all of you and I can never thank you all enough for making the blog what it is today.  It's going to get colder, but I'm not willing to say just yet flakes will fly... stay tuned and enjoy time with friends and family.
