When we think of August in Arkansas, we usually think of hot and dry weather! The grass is getting brown as some sort of drought sets up. That's not the case this year! Some locations have seen more than 10 inches over the past 30 days and there's more to come. As a matter of fact, it won't take much to vault Little Rock into the top 10 wettest Augusts in city weather history which dates back to the 1870s.
We're going to have plenty of heat and humidity over the next few days and I expect heat index values to reach and possibly exceed 105° and heat advisories may be needed. This heat will NOT last long as two features come together across the state. Those two features are an upper level low and a frontal boundary. This video goes over everything you need to know from A to Z.
