The GFS shows a high Sunday of 76 while the NAM has 78. The GFS shows a high Monday of 76 and 80 on Tuesday.
2 PM Thursday Update. If September ended today, it would be the 6th hottest by average high temperatures and the 9th hottest by average monthly temperature.
These records will not stand as cooler air arrives this weekend. The latest run of the GFS indicates highs in the 70s Monday. The GFS also shows lows in the 40s Monday and Tuesday morning in Little Rock...BRING IT ON!
Weather in Fayetteville for the game looks FAN-tastic with 2 PM readings in the upper 70s to near 80 with low humidity values.
All I have to say is... it's about time! The end is in sight and some REAL fall weather should arrive at the very beginning of next week. Temperatures will be 15-20 degrees cooler than where they have been over the past week. While I'm sure it will warm up again, I think it's a good bet the 100 degree heat is finished for the state this year. There's still the record for number of 90 degree days in a single year. The count will stop at 113 or 114, but could pick up again once the upper low leaves.
I have a couple thoughts about the impending "MEGA cool down". Usually clouds and a few showers are associated with this type of feature. This will keep daytime highs only in the 70s. Overnight lows will drop into the 50s and 60s as clouds and some wind will hold the temperatures up. One more thing, it will be interesting to see how many of us think about turning the heat on for the first time since we are so acclimated to the heat.

Hello Everyone, Winter is drawing near, Here are a few thoughts on this winter season, I beleive we will not have sustained cold like last year, but I do beleive we could have a couple of brutal cold shots that may be even colder than last year,but the cold shouldn't hold. As far as winter precip, I beleive we will see more of a Freezing rain events,with most of the fast cold airmasses being much more shallow than last winters. Just my opinions, I know anything can happen, We shall see. Stay Safe
