Severe Weather Thursday Update

7:10AM Thursday Update.... quick video with hi res simulated radar.  It goes out to 7PM.

I'll have more on the blog later, but I just wanted to let you know I have no changes.  An outbreak of severe weather (hail and wind) will be likely today.  Will it include an outbreak of tornadoes?  It's possible.  The timing still appears to be late this afternoon and more likely this evening.  However, there could be a storm at any time today, but the main activity will be late.  The moderate risk continues for most of the state.  Again, as I have been urging you lately, PLEASE FOLLOW ON TWITTER@KATVNews and @katv_weather

THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS A MODERATE RISK FOR MOST OF ARKANSAS.
THE YELLOW AREA MEANS THERE IS A 10% CHANCE FOR A TORNADO WITHIN 25 MILES OF A POINT.  15% CHANCE IN RED.  SPC ALSO INDICATES THERE IS A CHANCE FOR SIGNIFICANT TORNADOES.
THERE IS A 30% CHANCE FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WINDS WITHIN 25 MILES OF A GIVEN POINT IN RED AND A 45% CHANCE FURTHER INTO EASTERN ARKANSAS.  AS THE SYSTEM DEVELOPS FURTHER TONIGHT, THE WIND THREAT WILL BE GREATER THAN THE TORNADO THREAT AS IT PULLS EAST.
THERE IS A 45% CHANCE FOR SEVERE HAIL WITHIN 25 MILES OF A GIVEN POINT FOR MUCH OF THE STATE.  SOME OF THIS HAIL COULD BE SIGNIFICANT.  IT WOULD NOT BE SURPRISING TO HEAR REPORTS OF GOLF BALL TO BASEBALL SIZE HAIL.
