The Non-Summer of 2017

For the 56th time in recorded Little Rock weather history (since 1879), Little Rock will most likely not hit 100° this summer.  The last time this happened was in 2014.  However, that does not tell the whole story.

While we're nowhere near the top 10 for the coolest summer on record, this summer will be known for only a handful of 90° days.  It seems unlikely we'll hit 90° through the end of the month.  Meteorological summer is defined as the period from June 1 through August 31st.

Total number of 90° this summer.  With 8 days left this month, 2017 will likely have the 12th fewest 90 degree days on record.
August 2017 will have the 7th fewest 90 degree day in recorded Little Rock history.
