Spring-like Friday, Then Back to Winter

EXCUSE THE CRUDENESS OF THE COLD FRONT DRAW ABOVE. THE MAP IS FOR FRIDAY AND I WANTED TO POINT OUT THAT JUST AS THE MODEL IS UNDERDOING THE COLD BEHIND THE FRONT, IT'S PROBABLY UNDERDOING THE WARMTH AHEAD OF IT. STRONG WESTERLY WINDS AT 5K FEET AND SURFACE WINDS OUT OF THE WEST AND SOUTHWEST SHOULD TAKE TEMPERATURES TO NEAR 60 ON FRIDAY. OUR CUT OFF LOW BRINGS SHOWERS SATURDAY, THEN THE FIRST BATCH OF COLD AIR ARIVES SATURDAY EVENING.

THE MODELS HAVE AT TIMES SHOWN A STORM CROSSING THE GULF STATES WITH THE COLD AIR IN PLACE BY THE MIDDLE OR END OF NEXT WEEK. AT THIS TIME I WILL WATCH IT, BUT DOUBT IT. THE COLD , DRY AIR MAY OVERWHELM THE PATTERN FOR AWHILE PREVENTING ANY MAJOR PRECIP. MAKER.
