I posed an interesting question on my facebook fan page Wednesday night... "What would you rather have... severe weather or the record summer heat from last year? Remember it was 107 degrees at one point!"
The question was never meant to trick anyone, but it is an eye opening question. Far more people die in the United States from the heat than from any other weather hazard including tornadoes! You will remember the heart breaking stories last summer of infants being left in car seats. It's also very tough on the elderly when temperatures soar.
Check out the graph below I found from the National Weather Service. Can't we just have sunny and 70-80 degrees all year?
